Tanzania

Overview

From the endless plains of the Serengeti, where wildebeest move in rhythm with the seasons, to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania feels vast yet grounded. Iconic landscapes like Mount Kilimanjaro, which is Africa’s tallest peak, draw people in. But there’s much more to discover beyond the safari trail.

Travel further and you’ll find natural gems like the crystal-clear Chemka Hot Springs, tucked away among palm trees and fig roots, or the historical town of Bagamoyo, once a trading post and gateway for explorers, missionaries, and merchants along the Swahili coast. To the west and south lie the three Great Lakes: Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika, and Lake Nyasa (Lake Malawi) each playing a vital role in the region’s ecosystem, trade, and culture. Lake Victoria, shared with Uganda and Kenya, is also the source of the White Nile, linking Tanzania to one of the world’s greatest rivers.

Each region has its own rhythm. With over 120 ethnic groups, Tanzania isn’t one story, it’s many, layered and living side by side.

No two places ever feel the same. And that’s the beauty of travelling with Travel Mint.
